For a step-by-step visit!

With your audio-guide and a detailed map of the town, discover the city and the monuments at your own pace, following 12 commented steps! From the Pont Paul Bert to the Abbey St Germain, passing by the Rue de Temple, the statue of Cadet Roussel and the Clock

Tower, you will find the « Must-See » historic sites of Auxerre. At each step of the tour indicated on your map, dial the number on the audio-guide to listen to the commentary.

No limit in time: you set the pace!

Commentaries are available in French and English.

Auxerre has the label “City of Art and History” since 1995 and ensures the accessibility of its historical and archeological heritage to a wide audience. To do so, the Tourist Office organizes all year round many guided visits led by qualified guides: enjoy a rich moment during which the guides share their knowledge and love for the city.

 These visits last 1.30 hour.

The region has set up a major project offering to sportspersons an itinerary enabling them to cycle around Burgundy region along the canals. The Tourist Office makes available a tourist map that draws the whole itinerary.

Discover Auxerre and the surroundings in electric boats: originality and relaxation guaranteed! To the delight of both children and adults, la Maison du Vélo – the Bicycle House – rents electric boats that contain up to 5 persons

Playful, quiet and easy to use (no license required), they will enable you discover Auxerre and its sourrondings in a very pleasant and novel way on the Canal Nivernais.

From 1/2 hour to one day, you can admire the wildlife and plants life of our region and enjoy the calm and tranquility of a cruise with your friends or your family. You can also pass through locks and go to Champs-sur-Yonne.

For adventurers

For those who want to explore the auxerrois vineyards, the Auxerrois Tourist Office has set up the Oenobus: a free shuttle which, every Tuesday in the summer season, serves, 6 typical wine-growing villages: Escolives, Coulanges-la-vineuse, Irancy , Chitry, Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, and the hamlet of Bailly.

 

Departure of the shuttle at the Tourist Office: 10h – 11h30 – 14h – 15h30.

Every tuesday in a different village you can follow a guided tour, schedule available at the Tourist Office.

Free shuttle – Guided tour: 5€, 3€ for students and unemployed people, free under 12.
